Candy McManiman: July Featured Artist, Art Emporium

Candy is a juried and signature member of Artist's For Conservation, a prestigious international artist's organization.  This piece was in their 2012 juried competition at Grouse Mountain Resort in B.C.
Candy lives on the banks of an old mill pond, and as an avid bird watcher has spent countless hours huddled in a blind, observing and photographing these wood ducks. That familiarity shows in this wonderful painting of unmated Drakes.
Bachelors, 17x9 framed,  $595.00 Acrylic

Annette Martin: July Featured Artist

Colourful and stylized Annette's work is heavily influenced by the Canadian 'Woodland School' of Aboriginal art.
She tells a delightful story of a painting owned by her grandparents, by an unknown Native Canadian artist, that mesmerized her as a child. After completing her BFA and painting in a traditional European style for many years, it re-entered her life as a bequest, changing her art forever.
Summer Thaw, 11x14, Mixed Media, $195.00

Sandra England: June Featured Artist at the Art Emporium

When you look at a wall of Sandra's work, the first thing you notice is the breath taking colour. I heard one woman describe it as 'being immersed in a tropical sea'.
Next you notice the movement, and elegance of line, combined they make art to remember, and covet.
'There's Something Fishy', 24x18, $250.00

Noel Wraight: June featured artist

These are not digital manipulations, Noel has created a set of custom lenses that he uses to create some very cool photography. He prints them in such a way that they can be combined into diptychs and triptychs or into a whole wall of art if that's your desire, as I said...very cool.
'Triton', Photography on canvas, 21x18, $150.00

Debra Kubu: June featured artist

Debra is an artist with an incredible range, no style or media, inhibits her.  She's a retired art teacher so it's no surprise that she's also one of our most popular teachers here at the Art Emporium. She has a wealth of knowledge and the passion to make classes fun as well as informative.
Debra Kubu, 'Really?' 7x13, Acrylic, $125.00

Heather Kohl: June Featured Artist

This is actually the second piece Heather has brought in for this months feature, since the first is already sold.
Heather when asked to describe her work, has been know to say-tongue firmly in cheek-"it's bumpy"
Well, we are defiantly fans of 'bumpy'!
Fracking, Mixed Media/Acrylic, 12x12, $190.00

Randy Bloye: Featured Artist for June

Randy calls his business, Man Of Many Faces, he could have called it Man Of Many Facets.  A gentle giant of a man, he carves tiny delicate works from cottonwood bark, a very tricky medium to work in requiring great finesse and expertise.
Each is an unique reflection of the material piece chosen to create it from.

Randy's featured work this month is 'Village Scene'
 Cottonwood, and cedar, $55.00

Vanessa Garcia: June Featured Artist

Vanessa's art is just a fun filled and quirky as she is.
Highly stylized, her work is brimming with the colours and energy of her Columbian homeland.
Her featured work this month is 'St Antonio Street'.
Acrylic, 16x12, $150.00

David Dale, June Featured Artist

David is a renaissance man, I don't believe that there is an art form that he hasn't tackled.
His photography is wonderful, and his pottery is to swoon for.
bowl: round-4, $69.00
Now he's getting back to his original art form, air brush painting. I can hardly wait to see the results, but I digress...
For our feature wall this month David has brought in a new work called Muskoka: Streams of Consciousness
Photography, 14x38, $300.00
