Carolyne McLeod taking off in a new direction

Carolyne has long been known for her wonderfully delicate watercolours, with the occasional side trip into mixed media.  Of late she's been on fire in a mixed media frenzy, creating incredible work, some alight with humour,   some making deep heart wrenching statements, all breath taking.

We Welcome Nancy Yuhasz

Nancy Yuhasz has joined her daughter Kim in the Boathouse gallery. These mother daughter dynamos have complementary styles, and talent that will amaze you, definitely a must see here in the Art Emporium.

We welcome Vanessa Garcia

Originally from Columbia, our newest Artist, Vanessa is a teacher, and artist working in a brightly coloured stylized manner, that speaks of her roots in South America. Often whimsical, always cheerful her work is sure to brighten your day!

Culture Days at the Art Emporium

Spt 28th and 29th is Culture Days in Ontario, and the Art Emporium is pulling out the stops!
We're having demo's by some of our artists, and a Artist Trading card demo by Rose Klein.
Artist Trading Cards or ATC's have been around for a long time. Before websites and before photographed portfolios, artists would do very small paintings that could be carried easily, as samples of their wares.
More recently ATC's have become a way for artists to collect each others work, by trading these tiny works.
ATC's are generally not for sale, and can be a way for artists to play, cut loose and work with different materials.
We will be 'playing' each day from 11-1, no cost, all are welcome, but please register by emailing  info@artemporium.ca or calling 226-658-1888.

Robin Baratta: Texture and colour

Robin's breakthrough moment came when she started to use colour to enhance the texture she was building into her paintings, rather than using the texture to enhance the colour of her work.
A confirmed environmentalist, her property is certified with the Canadian Wildlife Federation's Habitat Program, she paints her surroundings with love and dedication.

Ray Murdock: Panoramic Perspective

Ray's images offer the full sweep of the landscapes he captures.  He eschews trickery and 'fancy equipment' instead painstakingly lining up individual  shots to create the sweeping vista.

Randy Bloye: Whimsy in Wood

Every garden needs a fairy house, every home a green man to guard the door. Here in the Boathouse Gallery we have  quirky   green men and hobbit houses carved by Randy.  Each is unique, full of personality and unexpected details, sure to delight the most discriminating of the wee folk.

Rose Klein: Textile to Tube

Rose's philosophy is 'ya gotta have fun'. The creator of  intricate painstaking textile work, every now and then she grabs some paint and cuts loose!
Keep having fun Rose, we're loving the results.

Richard Cockrill: Eyepopping Architectural paintings

Strongly coloured, line dominant, metallic rich, the wow factor is here! Richard's work will blow you away, especially when those metallics are facing the window on our spinning wall in the Boathouse Gallery. Gold, copper and coloured foils glitter and dance in the light, making already amazing work magical.

New art by: Debra Bailey

Known for her group of seven-esque vibrant landscapes, she has recently brought work representing her softer side. Ethereal, romantic, and utopian, she has created worlds that I want to live in, see you there too?
Now in the Boathouse Gallery...Open all year!

Wilf Chappell Photography: Anything but Ordinary

I would refer to Wilf as a Digital Artist, but he'd dismiss that a hyperbole. His subtle manipulation of the images produces a dreamlike effect that pulls you into his world.
Wilf not only has work in the Boathouse Gallery, he's also one of our 'artists of the month'  and on display in the Gift Boutique of the Art Emporium

The discerning eye of Irold Schmidt

Irold has that rare ability  see beauty where others don't,  and the ability to present that beauty in a way that  opens your eye and mind to the wonders around you.
We proudly display his work, here in the Boathouse Gallery, remember, we're open all year!
